And according to McKinsey, 88% of companies reported using AI in at least one business function in October 2025, up from 78% the year before. Adoption isn't a future trend. It's already here.
Some sectors are clearly in the crosshairs. Data entry clerks, telemarketers, cashiers, administrative assistants handling standardized tasks, writers producing repetitive content — these are the profiles most exposed between now and 2030, according to current projections.
What do they have in common? Their tasks are predictable, repetitive, and don't require complex contextual judgment. That's exactly where AI excels. It can process thousands of forms, follow phone scripts, generate standardized product descriptions without ever getting tired.
On the other end, healthcare, construction, skilled trades, and personal services rank among the least exposed. Not because AI is dumb — but because these jobs rely on physical skills, bodily presence, a fine-tuned reading of emotions, and unscripted situations. A plumber, a home care aide, a cabinetmaker: AI still can't hold a tool, sense the urgency of a situation, or adapt a gesture to a particular person.
If you're a non-developer entrepreneur, your exposure depends less on your job title than on what you actually do every day. Go through your weekly tasks. Which ones are repetitive and rule-based? Those are the ones to watch — and also the ones you can automate right now with the right tools.

There are things AI does very well. And there are things it doesn't do — and probably won't for a long time.
Emotional intelligence, genuine creativity, critical thinking, complex problem-solving, and adaptability: these are the human skills that research consistently places out of reach for current AI. What I recommend is choosing your tool based on your use case rather than the current rankings. And if you want to go further with automation, agentic workflows let you delegate entire sequences of tasks to AI — a step above one-off use.
